IP Risk Check: What Is a Risk / Fraud Score and How to Read It
The IP risk score (also called IP fraud score or purity) rates an IP's risk on a scale of 0 to 100. The lower the number, the cleaner the IP and the less likely it is to trip a platform's fraud controls.
It combines several signals: whether the IP is a proxy / VPN / Tor exit, whether it has any abuse history (scanning, brute-forcing, attacks), the IP type (residential vs datacenter), and whether it appears on threat-intelligence blocklists.
What counts as clean
As a rule of thumb, below 20% is extremely clean, 20-40% is clean, 40-60% is average, and above 60% is questionable. Residential broadband IPs are usually cleaner.
Why datacenter IPs score higher
Datacenter IPs are heavily used for crawling, proxies, and automation, so platforms treat them with more suspicion and assign them a higher baseline risk.

Prefer native residential broadband IPs, avoid shared proxies, and make sure the IP is not on any blocklist.
